TensaiOnTheRun started out as a hanamichi-uke mailing list founded by Blue-Eyed Fox. The first members of the ML decided to open up a site that houses hanamichi-uke fanworks to further spread their support for all Slam Dunk seme in their quest to win the lovable redhead's heart.

2004/06/16: Yey! An update! Anyways, I should've updated weeks ago but unfortunately, our PC crashed and I was only able to use it again last week. I'm still thinking if I'll convert the site to PHP and host it in my shared domain with Akasha and Tomoe. I'm a bit wavering off from my Hanamichi-uke fever because I've been recently into Naruto Fandom. But I've been re-orienting myself to SD fics for the past days and well, I'm having second thoughts haha! ^^; New fanarts by Tartar12345 and YiN_YanG. Check them out in the fanarts section.

Hanamichi-uke?

As shounen-ai/yaoi addicts, we often hear these two words: seme and uke. There are so many interpretations of what these two words mean and to those who are new to the fandom, these two words are alien to them. To at least give a clearer view about seme and uke, we gathered some definitions/interpretations:

Seme
-In terms of positions in bed, it means "the one on top".
-The aggressive one in the couple (usually the horny one).
-The one who does the chasing.
-The one who proposes.
-The one who seduces.

Uke
-In terms of positions in bed, it means "the one below".
-The aphrodisiac side of the couple.
-The one being chased after.
-The one being proposed to.
-The one being seduced.

Now we have a clearer view of what seme and uke are. This site is a collective Hanamichi-uke fanworks. And with this idea a question arises: How do we distinguish a Hana-uke fanwork?

1. Obviously, Hanamichi should be the "uke" (refer to the definitions above).

2. Hanamichi’s POV about the one he is supposedly paired with is not often portrayed. Most of the time the fic always focus on the feelings of the one who’s in love or attracted to him.

3. When there are so many people attracted to Hanamichi.

4. When it’s unpredictable on which one Hanamichi would choose among the list of admirers. Sometimes it would turn out that Hanamichi would not choose anyone at all.

5. In some occasions, Hanamichi's feelings for his supposed partner is exposed. But it mostly deals with his confusion and he's not the one who makes the first move.

6. When Hanamichi and his seme are the main pairing of the fanwork.

7. When Hanamichi is in a girl's persona, whether it involves crossdressing or he's of genuine female gender. Unless of course the author uses "girl power" and that she's the one who does the chasing (that is if there are fanworks like that out there).

8. In fanarts, the one Hanamichi is with in the pic shows obvious interest in him. You'll be able to distinguish this by looking at how their positioned in the pic. Usually, artists make Hanamichi blush to make it more obvious.

So far these are the things we follow in distinguishing a hana-uke fanwork, but if you have other suggestions don't hesitate to tell us.
